2022 The Korean American Association of Greater New York Gala

KAAGNY is a non-profit organization that connects Korean Americans to each other and to the American mainstream. It acts as an umbrella organization for 500 other non-profit organizations that provide assistance and services to people of all ages and economic backgrounds in areas such as education, culture, and community outreach. On February 24th, 2022, KAAGNY held a gala at the Ziegfeld Ballroom to celebrate and acknowledge over 350 donors who have put their effort and heart into helping the organization.

In response to the pandemic, KAAGNY launched the “Share the Love Food Relief Campaign” to assist marginalized, low-income families experiencing food insecurity. Thanks to generous donations, KAAGNY has raised over $1.2 million, and every dollar up to $50,000 will be matched in terms of food purchase value by H Mart. Through the campaign, KAAGNY is providing a monthly voucher of $100 for families of up to 2 people and $200 for families of more than 2 for a period of 5 months, serving over 1600 families.

The Korean cosmetic brand company, EBIN New York, generously donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worth $210,000, including face shields and hand sanitizers, to La Jornada food pantry services in Queens through the efforts of KAAGNY and Congresswoman Grace Meng. This donation aimed to support the local community during the pandemic. Additionally, the founder of H Mart, the largest Asian supermarket chain in America, also made a significant contribution by donating over $500,000 worth of food to the program. This shows the strong commitment and support of both EBIN New York and H Mart to help those in need in their community.
